X-PEL for headlights

Any one installed this stick-ems over their headlights? Any color deviation when pasted on? Is it working well? I am planning to buy this since I will be travelling up to Omaha from KC for the next 6 months. It is about $60.00 for these expensive stickers. Is this an investment well spent?

Hey Joe, are you thinking of getting X-Pels professionally installed? Let me know where you go to get this done, as I'm really thinking about putting them on my TL too. I've picked up about 30 nicks so far after 2 months of ownership!

I got about the same number of nicks and dings on the bumper/hood. Don't know what will happen if one of those hit my headlights. How come they don't make glass heaadlights anymore, this plastic headlights is of big concern to me. I don't mind spending the $$ if it works. I'll let you know..

I wouldn't mind doing that myself, except that authorized X-Pel installers will warranty their work if something screws up. Install it yourself and you're on your own.

By the way, you did know that X-Pel is simply a 3rd party brand of 3M ScotchCal, don't you? Maybe I need to call around for 3M dealers who have installation experience. I know Napa Auto Parts is a 3M dealer, but I shudder at the thought of letting those grease monkeys lay their hands on my TLS.

Dave,

Good luck finding somebody with experience. I had several shops tell me "it can't be that difficult, we can do it for you". No flippin way are they going to experiment on my car.

Now there is a dealer in Omaha that you might consider. It's listed on Xpels website. www.xpel.com

Bricot has the X-Pel on his TL-S. He did the bumper, headlights, and the rocker panels behind the wheel wells. You don't even notice unless you're looking for it. The headlight pieces are much thicker than the others but there was no discoloring.
