Ok i have a 99 tl. i am already on my third tranny at 115k and the last one was put in at 97k. recently the check engine light went on but it does it occasically for some exhaust code so i ignore it usually. now the maintaince light comes on and flashes when i turn th car on so i figure that is for a scheduled maintaince i need to get done. while im driving yesterday its starts flashing but the tach and speedometer start going wild moving the needles all over. the radio shuts off and my radar turns off and on. the car is not shifting that rough really so idk wut the problem could be.

the gauges jumping is electrical- most parts stores will do free alternator and battery check for you. Just drive it there.
The exhaust code and bad running- maybe the egr ports are plugged- a gen2 common prob- requires removal of intake manifold to clean passages.
The Maitenance light comes on every 6000 miles after you reset it using the 2 buttons for the trip meter. Its to remind you to change the oil soon

Not shifting that rough? It should be smooth and sweet. You should still have warranty on the replacement. After electrical test if all is well, take it to the dealer- could be trans again!

 

yeah, def electrical, thats happened to me before on other cars and in my friend's cars aswell, either battery or alternator, but brush kts for the alternator arent too spendy
