WTF? $2.62 for a tank of gas?!?!?!
I just moved over this past weekend to Redwood City. My new neighborhood doesn't have very many good gas stations around..
I'm driving to the store and I realize Ih have to get gas. I spot a Shell and a Cheveron. I pull into the shell without looking at the prices and proceed to put gas.
As I'm looking to see how many gallons I'm putting in, I notice that the freakin price is $2.62 per gallon for premium. F that!! I only filled up half a tank until I can go to one closer to work. The Cheveron is only .01 cheaper!!
I can handle up to 0.15 differences, but damn! 0.40 more a gallon is just ridiculous!
This is the most I've ever had to pay for gas in my life!! It's not even summer yet..
Glad that the TL has good gas miliage for the size engine it has.

Oopps...made a boo boo, I meant 290 at jones.
In Houston there is a Exxon on 290 and Jones for 1.56 for 93 octane. That's the cheapest I've seen around...others are for about 1.70 for shell and chevron.

I think the most I ever paid for gas was around $2.70 for premium at a Shell in Mammoth Lakes, Ca.

It's coming down right now after the holiday.
The closest Chevron is selling premium gas for $2.09 now.
BTW, why did you move to Redwood City? Gas has been historically more expensive in Redwood City than most of other areas in the Bay Area. If I were you, I'd get gas in some other city (like on the way home from work if your work is located in some other city.)

Ed,
That Shell in Redwood City on Woodside Rd has traditionally been expensive. My ex-girlfriend lived around there and I would see that place sell gas for like $.30-$.40 above everywhere else.
I know it's painful but travel down to south bay to get gas. I do once a week anyways... it's like 10 cents cheaper.
Sunnyvale seems to be the cheapest place to buy gas. If you are looking for places to purchase gas in the mid-peninsula 76 on Ralston is about the cheapest it gets $2.25 for premium.
Good luck with the new place.

I found a great deal on gas over at the Cheveron in Fremont off of Auto Mall Parkway and 880. It's only 2.13 for premium!! That is the cheapest I have seen anywhere around here. I got there once a week for bowling and fill up if I can.

I think the only other place that it would be this much has to be up in the city. Damn Woodside snobs, making things so expensive.

Ed,
Redwood City is a strange city. It's kind of like a border between the freeway and all the right areas. Between Marsh and Whipple there is an area which Redwood City owns which the residents call the buffer zone between 101 and Atherthon and it is pretty ghetto. Also all along Woodside from 101 to 5-6 blocks after El Camino is kind ghetto. There is a parallel street to Woodside called Oak I believe which is very scary late at night... Anyways... What am I talking about none the places hear compare to Wilmington or Inglewood in LosAngeles...

Just curious, why is gas so high in CA? We pay 1.70 for 93 around here. Is the gas tax that much higher in CA? Incredible.
