wrecked

driving along a bussy road, its raining. going about 30 and there were ppl on teh sides of the road protesting with signs about dont use animals for testing, so i was reading one, and as soon as i looked back on the raod, i slamed into a volvo..... mine isnt all that bad just scrateches on teh front bumper, she held up well, the volvos back bumper cracked in two places and left most of its paint on my car , the cop gave me a 120$ ticket and set me on my way, and the cock in the volvo only wants teh dealer to fix his car so its gonna cost me a wazzoooo of money

i admit that its my fault but he doesnt have to take it to the dealer to get it fixed, any shop around town will do it for half the price then the dealer, and for all i know he could of been stoped looking at the exact same signs when everyone else went, i didnt have enough time to look around before i hit the steering wheel

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I know it must be hard on you to swallow the accident, but if it's any consolation, I wish you the best of luck into recovering your vehicle and tackling any issues that arises.

Hopefully, if there is anything good that came out of this is that you and the other person involved were safe.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune, but seriously, it's 100% your fault. He has every right to have his car fixed up to the best it can be...afterall, it was the best it could be before you slammed into him...and even with the dealer fix, I'm sure it won't be the same...that's on top of wasting his time spending at the dealer/body shop etc.

i have put my self in his shoes, its a older volvo that wasnt in teh best shape, and the damage is not that bad, just needs to be touched up on the paint and sanded to look good again, same on my car, a 200$ job at any body shop but 500$ job at the dealer for the same type of work, cause the dealer is going to simply hire out that exact same 200$ shop to do the job and pocket the other 300 thats what kills me....

$200 for a bumber and installed to boot, not likely. If you were hit in the rear where would you want to get your car fixed. He/She may be leasing the car and want to make they are covered when they return the car. Either way get the $200 number out of your head, it's not going to happen.

What was the ticket for "Inattentive Driving " ?

and 2004TL, tech is cool, the goons he runs with i cant stand, they bring drama and problems to our venues all the time, they were up at CNY Thursday night, and we were down to one in one out and they all threw a fit and almost started a fight, same reason that Stanfords in wesport is closing, the same gooons causing probs, if its related to the hip hop music industry stay away from it, thats my opinion.....

I feel your pain......but is it the car dealer where he is getting the work done at giving you this price or the guy himself ? Because if this is the situation i would suggest that you do like the insurance company and request a few estimates from diff shops ...one of them being your friends shop and then work out a fair settlement on the cost of the repair ...... but you know if u try and nickle and dime this guy he may try and sue you for whip lash which may develope later on and then your really gonna have to pay...... Just some food for thought. If and when u settle on this accident get a written statement signed that it has been fixed and no further action can be taken on his part to claim more money for other injuries.

thanx for the advice guys, thats what i was hoping to get from posint this instead of the bashing, im gonna try to work it out to the best i can, so far the driver of the car is the one that said when he got out of the car after the hit " No biggy, i needed to go to the dealer anyways" so im assuming he will want to get it fixed there and then send me the bill, but i will request quotes so... well see how this turns out...

My bumper didn't even bend. It just had some minor dings and shi$. My exhaust left side got the worse end of it. It's just bent to the point where you can notice it. Insurance will cover it in full.

Guys no matter how the bumper looks after lower speed crashes.
It still might be damage behind the bumper this is the energy absorbing stuff. So people need to be careful when getting the car fixed at some places. Every auto repair shop is not going to fix you car proper.
