Cool Would you pay 100 bucks for MY car ???

I’m an “old timer” here and I mostly hang out at the CL Forum since the split, but I thought you guys might be interested in getting in on this plan I came up with.

*********************************************

I’m thinking of maybe holding a RAFFLE instead of selling or trading my car if/when the 6-Speed manual CL comes out.
100 bucks a ticket – (3) for 275
I would sell a MAXIMUM of (300) tickets.

If you don’t have a CL/TL yet, you have a chance to get one CHEAP.
If you already have one and win, you sell one of them and have NO PAYMENTS.
If you HATE the CL/TL you already have and win, you can sell both and buy an M3.

The car would be as it sits with all options, V1, Subs, CAI and 13,000 +/- on the clock.
And of course it comes pre-installed with that wonderful ZAINO shine.

What do you think ???
If you would buy a ticket for this, please post here of E-Mail me so I could get an idea of the interest.

Any Lawyers want to write me up a contract for a nominal fee ?

I mean, the chances of someone winning is pretty high at 1 in 300 instead of 1 in a million. But at 100 bucks a pop, I can't do it, if it was like 5 bucks or something, then give me 1. But I know it's a CL and not a stupid toy or something.

It's a good idea, but it'll never catch, unless u have a dedicated audience who can risk the $100.

No joke.

I’ve seen a lot of interest on the CL forum.
If I sell less then (250) tickets I will return the funds and call it off.
(250) is the “break even” point for me because I think I could easily sell/trade the car for 25K.

I think a 1 in 300 chance for a car worth about 25K is a great chance to take.

You see these things in the auto magazines all the time.
The cars are usually more valuable, but they also sell 1,500 or more tickets.

It sounds like a very fun and potentially profitable idea, but I'd check out the state laws in your area... Besides which what assurance would the people on this forum have that the ultimate "winner" wasn't yourself under a different userid? Would you use some sort of escrow delivery service?

Not to accuse you of any bad intentions or anything, but given that we're a group that spans many different states (and even countries if you count Canada ) and few people know each other in real life, this sort of scheme is probably not a good idea here.

Shawn, if you provide us with some sort of 100% guarantee, I good for 1 or even 2. I was planning to go to Atlantic city with my friends but I can do this instead.

If you can convince me of the legality of this event and the assurance that the raffle will be performed fairly and in a timely manner, I'm interested in buying a couple of entries. Let me know!

I would be interested in buying one or two. I would just like to know the legality of it all. What are the "rules"? Is you family and "personal" friends allowed to participate. I mean if we all participate and your buddy next door wins im pretty sure people are gonna be pissed!

other than that, its a great idea.

Rules & details would be available well before the collection would start.
I just threw this out there to judge interest.

I would definitely NOT allow anyone in my family to participate.
As for friends, I consider the many people that I met at the last few CL/TL meet’s to be friends and I wouldn’t want to disallow that many people.

As for the actual drawing, I would physically have NO PART in that.
I was thinking a local Acura meet in the NY/NJ area because there are a large amount of owners there.

I’m thinking that everyone entering would get a number via E-Mail from 1 through 300.
I would post the list w/names here so everyone knows their number and they are sure they are properly represented.

The “drawing” would be something as simple as pulling a number out of a can like they did for the giveaways of the springs at the Park Ave MEET.

Keep the ideas coming.
Lawyers ???? Point me in the right direction and I will do the research on this.

I consider many here "friends" also. I was referring to non-forum friends. Like your buddy at work or the guy down the street.

Sounds good though.....

As long as you can get legal backing for it... I think it's a great idea. Kind of like that buy me a ferrari website. Good brainstorming.

Cool

Sounds Good, but don't care much for a CL, now if it was a TL type S then I'll take 6 tickets(one monthly payment of my car)

Tell that to the winner as he drives away in a shiny RED car with ZERO payments.

Someboby has to win.
I think 1 out of 300 chances ain't bad at all.
