is it worth it

to take off the resonator of a apexi ws2 exhust? any one know how it sounds?

Not sure about the resonator, but removing it may make your exhaust sound raspy and not so good...and as far as the highflow cat goes...you may gain a hp or 2... If you don't have emissions tests where you live...you could save some money by gutting it. Though your car will be slightly more environmentally destructive if you go this route.

There is usually a difference of 1-2 HP between a gutted cat / test pipe and a high flow cat. The high flow I have been told will give around 5. It will also A. keep you legal B. keep your motor runnin right and C. no ugly CEL to look at.

friend of mine had a prelude with aftermarket exhaust. it was deep and sexy for a 4 banger. then he got a test pipe to replace the cat. now it sounds like crap and the car reeks of exhaust fumes. dont do it for 3 hp

Forget about taking it off youll just be altering it like a ricer. Its already fine tuned for maximum horsepower if your bored with it ill buy it from you and you can buy a tanabe or hks

nah i want it to sound deeper. getting headers in next week so hopefully that will do it.

That'll probably make it a little louder. Deleting the resonator is going to make it sound raspier, and more like those riced out autozone specials you see/hear on the highway.
