Here's the Key: Turn VSA off, put it in D1 and floor it. Go all the way to redline, let go of the gas, then slap it into d2 and floor it again (sometimes you can even chirp second). Get to the redline again in 2nd, and follow the same previous methods to d3. Try it....its the best way to launch the TL-S...although i still havent tried to brake torque

Cool

That's even better than let SS shift from 1st to 2nd!!!

However, DO NOT LET GO OF GAS, there is no point of it anyway... just keep shifting and concentrate on the road. You might do more harm to the tranny by letting go of gas and step on it again....

I don't know how valid this is yet but I've heard that you can come close to redlining from the 1st to 2nd shift in SS mode once the car is broken in. Suposedly if you mash the gas from the get go it will run the RPMs up before shifting to 2nd. I was told the break point is btw 600 & 1000 miles. I heard this from some friends at my dealership. They claim it's the same with the CL-S's. It's only a matter of time before I can find out 1st hand.

Post WON MY FIRST RACE!

My friend has a 95 Impalla SS and I couldnt wait for the day to have a car to beat him. He raped me in my 2000 GSR, but with the TL-S it was a different story. We lined up at the light and I put it in D1 (definitely the best for acceleration cause you can pull to the redline without worrying about the SS shifting for you) and then I just gunned it. By about 50 mph I had about a 1 car length lead, and then after that I started pulling on him. By about 110 I had a good 4-5 car lengths on him. I truly could not believe it!!
