Wiper wings

aka wiper spoilers or fins. i'm thinking putting those on, but i'm afraid they'll look tacky even if i get a pair of black ones. my previous OEM blades streaked and now even with aftermarket blades after a month they're streaking too. i'm thinking our wiper arm springs don't apply enough pressure down on the windshield. so has anyone put these on before and recommend if they do a good job? i also saw these springs called 'SureWipe' http://www.surewipe.com that you attach to the base of the wiper arms for added pressure. anyone vouche for em?

I heard about some TL's that have the wiper washer hoses from the bottle to the squirters faulty. What I mean is that there seems to be a premature deteriation of the hoses that can cause the streaking or residue. Check with a knowledgeable person at the dealer to see if your car may be one of them.. (take your VIN #). Your always better off with OEM parts anyway. RainX works good too. Jeff

no i'm talking bout the typical streaking when you're just wiping the rain water away. i have no problems with my washer fluid. it just aint a clean wipe compared to a month ago when i just put in these new blades. so i just wanna know if anyone has tried attaching wings to their wipers or ever used this surewipe thing.

dee diddy: I installed Rain X wipers on my TLS last week and so far great. They do have an aerodynamic shape to help reduce the lifting that I think you are talking about and I can say that I tested them at 90mph with no lifting. I have Rain X applied on my windshield so at that speed I don't really need them but just to test and they work great, will see how long they last.
You might want to replace the wiper instead of just the blade.

i replaced both wiper arms just last month, so i'm not about to go out and get new ones again. i'm just wondering if putting on those things will help reduce the streaking.

axeman: It wasn't a downpour you know and on the hwy here in FL is very easy even when it rains to get up at those speeds and like I said I was testing the wipers and it was for a brief period so keep your pants on.
