Go to any good parts store and ask for the Bosch ICON wipers
The hands down winner in new technology
All the springs are inside the rubber, no exposed parts to ice or snow , has a spoiler!
and as the ad says
only Grandma hugs you tighter

17-20 bucks each side ask the parts guy for right size
You will love them- everyone here does, fsstyms1 swears by them and he drives in serious weather

 

As far as the size.. Just tell them what car you have and bam.. they will point you in the right direction.

 

24 and 19

 

the only thing I do not like is that the edge of Bosch ICON wiper for the passanger side (19") does not even touch the windshield

Anyone got the issue fixed?

 

The Bosch ICON blades will be marked A the B types are for cars with reverse blades on one side. Our car requires a 19A and 24A
These blades have an actual spoiler lip built in to keep them flat at all speeds. Put one on upside down and ooooops!

Most blades do not sit on the bottem edge of the glass on the down position, and who looks there while driving anyway?

The little extra length DOES wipe higher on the windshield- where your eyes are!
I am usually busy looking out front thru the clean part!

I love Consumer Reports, but lab test and real world are not the same in this case.

The ICONS may be low in life or something which lowers their score, but they wipe perfect and wont fly loose even with the leafblower going at them!

Were they EVEN tested in the group? Or is one of those number designations= ICON

 

Consumer Reports will rate items lower because of their price. They consider overall price and function more important than high performance model. Therefore it is likely than they will rate the cheaper brands higher if they do a good job, vs the top of the line model $$$ that does an excellent job. If you read consumer reports, you will never see a high end item win. They see it as the difference in the price is not worth the improvement (even though many of us may disagree)

 

Wow. I'm surprised that PIAA is not mentioned at all. I used the Bosche Mirco Edge blades for years. Switched to PIAA blades a couple of years ago. I'll never try anything else. The PIAA blades come with a silicone windsheild treatment. The treatment combined with the silicone wiper blades is unbeatable. And they last about 4 times longer than a convetional rubber blade.

 

not to post jack or nothin, but does anyone know why my windshield wiper makes this loud THUNK noise everytime it comes down?

 

there is a thread about this either your wiper arms are not aligned properly or you wiper linkage? (i think thats right) has gone bad and needs to be replaced.

mine was doing that and i realigned the wiper and its good now. it only did it to me when the wiper was full speed.

ICONS!!! they're the best blades i've ever bought.

 

Since I don't spend any time looking through that area of the windshield, I could care less.

 

it bugs me that it doenst touch but i really could car less considering that they wipe like a god.

 

I don't know how it could be fixed. The windshield curves away from the blade, so short of bending the blade, there's not much that can be done.

 

I have the same issue with the ICON's. I do not care at all, its like 1 inch at the bottom right corner. I would trade the performance from these blades to cover that inch!

Seems like the best are ICON or PIAA. I want to try the PIAA's next.

 

so should i get 24 and 18 so i dont have that issue. i have it on my current crapy blades and its anoyin as hel. dont notice it unless ur lookin but im OCD

 

I would rather have 19" and just a tiny spot missing then an all around smaller blade. Doesnt make sense.

 

A smaller blade will clear a smaller area across the entire swipe area, far more that a few square inches at the lower, passenger side of the windshield.

 

If the curved window causes loss of contact and you just cant stand it!!!!!!!!

Most OE blades are good for a year maybe.......

The advantage of the ICON blades is all the springs are built inside

Aerodynamic and snow/ice resistant

I replace my blades every year normally- the vision is worth the investment

And most of us use a 24A driver 19A passenger side

When I bought my car it came with some very very nice wipers, they dont leave mark, quiet and honestly the best wipers I owned, and I have no clue what they are.

I'm thinking of stopping by an autozone or something tonight and picking some up... they sound spectacular and I'm not satisfied with my wipers any more (all the ice from these sudden snow storms have made them suck), so I'll have to check these out

 

A is for driver's side, B for passenger's, but I think you probably know that already.

I'll come clean...I wonder what the further differences are too !

I don't remember where I saw this, but I believe the "B" blades are for the passenger's side on cars where both blades rest in the center of the windshield. The write-up claimed that the aerodynamic feature of the ICON was to keep the blade firmly against the glass, so using an "A" blade on the car described above would result in the blade being lifted by wind. I would look at the application chart and stick with what it tells you.
