Wings West Spoiler.....

I want the WW spoiler but I am leasing the car. My questions are:

1. Will the dealership care if I bring the car back with a WW spoiler?
2. If they do will the OEM spoiler cover the holes made by the WW spoiler so I can put one of those on when i'm dome with the car?

Please let me know the deal...Thanks, Chris

Sup, The holes for the WW spoilers are suppose to align with the holes for the OEM spoiler. But being this is an aftermarket spoiler, it will not always align correctly. In addition, when I had my WW spoiler put on they use some adhesive/glue to aid in the install. So basically in addition to the screws it was glued on. This might damage the paint if you decide to remove the spoiler later on.

no one will care about ther spoiler on your car even though it's leased. I'm not sure why everyone is so worried about moding a leased car. Only thing you have to worry it that your mods ness the car up a spoiler adds to the value and does nothing to hurt the car so go for it.

I know that it doesnt hurt the car but I know that something like not having the factory brand tires disqualifies the car from being a Acura certified vehicle. So I think that a WW spoiler would be a problem to them. I'm not worried about modding a leased car, I already have a body kit, H&R sports , and tint and I dont even have the car for 5 weeks. It's just that I dont wanna give the car back and have them tell me I have to pay for a new trunk, cuz of the holes.

If you read your lease agreement, you'll see it clearly states that you are PROHIBITED from modifying the car in any way.

BUT, (there's always a but) most dealerships will let you get away with it if it adds value to the car or hasn't damaged anything. Therefore, just expect to not get the spoiler back if you return the TL at the end of the lease.

I installed the ww spoiler and no the holes do not 100% line up with the OEM spoiler holes. (I got 3 of the 4 holes on the spoiler to line up) Maybe it was the spoiler but aftermarket bolt on's are not 100% guarantee to fit right.

I paid around $270 for paint AND installation.

I agree, even an aftermarket spoiler won't hurt. Besides, the lender (lessor) will never know. As for the spoiler. I have a 2003 SSM TLS and I got the painted spoiler from sportwing.com for 257 (incl. shipping). And yes, it was a perfect match.

Not always true. I was told by American Honda Finance - who owns the car during a lease - that it's pretty much upto the guy who checks the car during the inspection 6 months prior to the lease maturation. Examples I gave them were headers, mufflers...they said no. It's probably a yes if I get an Acura dealer to install. There is NO rule written about what is allowed, because I asked about Type S wheels on my TLP...they didnt know. If its anything Acura, your ok. If not, just hope the guy doesnt notice. A WW spoiler probably will not catch the guys eye, of course unless he sees a real spoiler on a TL next to it.
