Does anyone have any experience, positive or negative, with the Yakima Windscreen for Roof Mounted Racks?
The whole setup ran ~$500 at REI at the annual 20% off sale
The problem is I only used it once in May 2000 because the wind noise is annoying when the sunroof is open

Yakima sells a 44" windscreen aka fairing for $50

Since I invested in the roof rack, I would like to use it
I have a trunk rack that I used for my Fairmont and Accord, but do not want to use it on the Acura

REI is having their 20% off again sale from May-21 to May 31 so that would lower pain threshold to $40 plus tax. I don't mind spending the money but would be annoyed if the "fairing" made it worse

One of my friends purchased an aftermarket windscreen for the hood of his 1999 Accord and he only used it once because of the severe whistling noise

When I got my Rack setup I went ahead and bought the windscreen. All in all I would have to say that if you don't use a box on top then it may have some advantages. In my case, I found that the wind resistence from the windscreen forcing air into the bottom of the box caused a certain amount rumbling. I don't use it anymore with the box, but it seems to work pretty good when just the racks are on. Good luck either way.

I used the rack to support the bicycles on the roof
I would like to open the sunroof in the summer
For Skis I just slide them throught the rear passenger arm rest portal
