Window roll-up switch indicators don't light up?

Can anybody explain the reasoning behind why--with the parking lights turned on--when you enable the window roll-up lockout (so that only the driver can roll all four windows up/down) all of the green light indicators on all the window switches (including all four switches on the driver's side door) turn off? I can see why there would be no need for the indicators on each of the door switches on the other three doors to be lit, but even the driver's switches too? AFAIK the driver's side switches still work even with the lockout engaged...

I never noticed but I thought the lockout effected all of the switches including the drivers...going to have to check it out tonight.

Well, I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure that lockout doesn't affect the driver's switch. I mean, why would a driver want to prevent himself from accidently rolling up/down his window, unless he was a total doofus or something...

Yep, the driver's controls are disabled as well when the lockout is engaged. My old 97 Accord behaved the same way.

No biggie, since I never use the lockout anyway, but it would be annoying if you have naughty kids in the back seat and want to operate the front passenger's window.

And yes, the lights extinguish when you engage the lockout.

Ah, Vincent--trying to think you're funny, eh?

Actually, I think they saw you first!

The driver's controls for the other 3 windows are disabled (and the illumination for those turn off at both the driver's door and each individual door) when the lock is engaged. The driver can always operate his/her own window regardless of lock position.

Driver's Control

When I turn on the lockout switch the lights go out on the other three doors, and three of the fours switches on the driver's door. The switch for the driver's window is still illuminated, and functional.

So lemme get this straight--Acura wants to be sure that us drivers won't pull a brain fart and "accidently" open any of the other three windows, out of concern for the other passengers when the lockout is engaged?

I think it's b/c it's much easy to program it so that there is a "complete" lockout rather than prgram the "brain" to lockout on 3 windows and bypass one.
