i usually drive my car fairly conservatively. (no high revs past 6500), and shift usually around 4000/4500.
does this affect the car in some way? will it de-condition my car to act slower and more sluggish?
i read somewhere in the post about an 'ecu' - what is that? from some postings, it seems that the 'ecu' remembers the drivers driving habits and needs to be reset?

ECU's goal is t o maximize fuel mileage and minimize emissions. It will do that until called upon by your right foot to give power- and will reset so to speak when the need falls. It is called being "adaptive". Keep the oil and ATF fluid clean, no hard throttle stuff until fully warmed up (ten minutes), try to keep rpm's off the rev limiter or even alittle below redline and if you want use synthetic oil- now your engine will last a long long time.

thank you for the helpful replies.
i was just worried that i may be "training" my beast to be mellow (by driving conservatively) so may not be able to go into full "attack" mode when the need arises. since it hasnt been CONDITIONED properly....
on the other hand, i keep the beast well maintained.
