Will my TL-P ever grow up to hang w/ a TL-S

How would a 2002 TL-P w/ Comptech Headers, Exhaust, Sways, and Air Filter compare to a TL-S? Will it even be close to being able to hang w/ it off the line or at higher speeds? Thanks, just curious.

Theres only one sure way to find out; who here lives in Texas???

Seriously though of all those mods the headers will give you the most gain of about 20-25hp or so, the gain would be more on a TL-S since its putting out more hp in the first place. The Exhaust and a simple filter change would net you maybe 3-4 hp combined so you are still a little bit shy numberwise, but theres one sure way to find out as I said.

Enjoy the car you have. I had a Gold 2002 TL-P loaner last week and it was a great car. Actually smoother than my S.

You should have gotten the "S" in the first place instead of spending $$$ on mods trying to catch up.

Are you going to UT? If so, you've got about a year to get all that stuff on and try me for a race before I graduate.

Got to admit though, my finesse lies in offroading, not racing (basically I stomp my foot, shift when it gets near/in the redline).

Yessir, I will be @ UT next year. Got a few years before I graduate. I am hoping to have the mods on by the labor day weekend break right after the start of classes. I think I will cruise down to the hill country in my mom's minivan while they work on the car up here. Where you at in Austin? I'm staying in Dobie again this upcoming year. Hope to see your car around. There are a few really sweet TL's in Austin (I know of DragonTL and DanF). Do you know of any more in Austin? I hope to add my name to that list one day. We'll see. Take it easy!

Burt,

I've actually been parking her in Dobie during this summer session, but I don't know if I'll get a spot for the fall (I'd love one, but they are bastards about it if you don't live there). But my TL-S will be the vehicle that I drive to campus most of the time, with the Defender reserved for days when Longhorn Offroad puts vehicles on campus (BTW, look for us in front of Gregory the first day of class).

I'm living out on 360 and Spicewood Springs, just south of 183. Everyone says its far, but being from Dallas everything in Austin still seems pretty close. Besides - who cares about living a little bit further out if it means you get to play on the highways on a daily basis?

And I must say I know no one else in Austin with a TL, TL-S, or for that matter even an Acura. I just got it about two weeks ago, so I haven't really built myself into the culture at all. And I'm not planning on modifying it much - that's why I liked the TL-S - so badass to start. No, my mod budget is still earmarked for a hinged radius arm, gears, and lockers for the Defender.
