Will intake void my warranty?

Don't see why it would, but w/tranny issues, I don't want to give the dealer a chance to put any blame back on me. Anyone have any problems?

Pretty much the only time they can void out your warranty on anything is when an aftermarket part causes a factory part to fail.

Yeah, that's what I was worried about

Say in a year my tranny goes out (again), any chance dealer could say that the extra couple ponies unleashed by the intake put extra wear on the transmission? I know that's a known issue, but since intake is the first link of a very long chain, I don't want to screw myself over.

If it's all good, this will be my birthday present to myself

not a chance. I have a CAI, headers, and exhaust and my tranny went. They took it without asking any questions. your aftermarkets won't do anything. If they give you a problem, they have to prove without a doubt that it was your intake that caused the problem...they won't be able to.

I just put in an CAI, So what you (quicksiver) are saying is that it won't void my Warranty. I have to go back to get my breaks change and have my rotors cut. My cousin told me if the Dealer sees the CAI they will void my warranty and suggested that I put my stock air box back in before heading to the Dealer. Is it really true that the CAI won't void the warranty and can anyone else back this clam up except for quicksilver.

Sorry for the above message. It is not Quicksilver, but goldendragon. Please replace the name Quicksilver with goldendragon.

Failing Tranny is a well known issue. So, they should not be pointing finger to something else.

What if those dealer bastards don't budge like they insist that it will void the warranty, what can you do?

I friend put 18" rims on his car and then when he had transmission problems, the dealer said it was the 18" rims putting stress on the transmission. I knew it is BS though. They wouldn't give it to him though.

If the dealer tries to pull some BS on you, the law is on your side. Its called the Magnuson-Moss Act and its a law that says that the DEALER is responible for proving that an aftermarket part caused a factory part to fail.

http://www.ravelco.net/magnusonmossact.htm

Just do a search for Magnuson Moss and aftermarket and you should find some more hits on the subject.

when my tranny went out they tried to void the warrenty, due to the S/C.
They said the headers, icebox, etc would be no cause for concern, those items would in no way affect warrenty.
