Seeing if 02-03 6 disc in dash changer will fit in my 2000 TL? Also wondering if they play cd-r cd's. My 2000 won't.

yes direct replacement, and yes it will play cdrs unlike the 99-01

Just make sure you get a head unit from a navi model if you have navi or you will lose the voice commands over the speakers. Non-navi models cannot do this function.

I'm not eso sur eyou have to get one fom a Navi model. I think that's been disproven on the forum. The important thing to know is that the CL's 6-disc isn't compatible. with the TL, though it's a prefect fit.

Just got a 2003 indash changer on ebay for $200. I think it's a good deal and I hope you guys are right about it fitting in my 2000 TL.Thanks!

Will it also fit a 99tl w/o nav? And will an MDX 6indash fit?

does anyone have any more knowledge about this?? why won't the CL changer work in a TL if it fits and plugs in??

The TL headunit incorporates an amp, while the CL headunit relies on an external amp to drive its 6 speakers, compared to the TL's 5 speakers.

So with a CL unit in your TL, it will work, but will barely have any volume since it won't be amplified. That's what happened to me.

I also gathered that if you have a NAV model, you must get a changer from another NAV model for the voice function to work.

I dont know anything about the navi models.... I thought they were all the same. But yes, I have a 99TL with an 03 head unit in it. I love it and couldn't imagine living without it!

FYI... I've added info for the 2002-2003 head units in 1999 TL...and have several to sell.

Yes it will fit but the mdx one will not. Our radio's in our cars are squared off on all corners. The mdx radio is rounded off on the bottom.

I'm looking for one that is "for sure" out of a TL w/NAV. Can you provide one with the VIN# and serial#??

You have to make sure the part number contains the TL id which is S0K if it's for the CL it will contain S3M. Make sure it's a TL one, way too many sellers on eBay state their radio will work in TL and CL radios. There's one for sale like that right now. I've clearly told the guy he needs to change his listing and he hasn't.
