why sportshift can suck

Has anyone else ever been happily driving along using sportshift with the music way up, and accelerated from a stop, only to notice a minute later you are running around 6000 RPM in 1st, but didn't even notice it? Man, I have done this like twice now and feel so bad afterwards... Hopefully I'm not hurting my car or anything.

00-03 with 5 speeds don't have control over first gear. Frank, you can just leave it in Auto you know, its not like you need to use SS.

most of the time I leave it in auto, except in traffic or when I want to run it hard; I don''t always use sportshift, but since it's there, might as well use it. I'd prefer a manual tranny like my other car, whose gears are closer and I can actually hear the engine..

ur not hurting your car...I do this all the time on my 02, but i do it something on my mom's 99. The moment when you notice is when you let off the gas and you feel the tug.
