I was coming home last night and was stopped at a red traffic light. I was the first car in the centre lane. Instead of queuing up behind the row of cars lined up behind me a new Mazda MPV, V-6, pulls up to the inside (right) lane. He would have to cut into my lane when the light turns green because there were parked cars on the other side of the intersection of his lane. Normally I wouldn't bother and just let the guy cut in but when I looked over and I couldn't resist. The driver is a young male (new driver) with an attitude. He had his baseball cap on backwards. Windows down blaring punk ass music. He looked real COOL slouched over with left hand clutching the steering wheel at the 12 o'clock position. After seeing this I couldn't resist giving him a little taste of TL exhaust.

Light turns green he guns it and I floored the TL the TCS lights flicks a few time and in less than 2 seconds I had him beat easily. I wouldn't even call it a race. Pissed off he swung in behind me in mommy's van and passes me on my left as I slowed down to a cruise.

As Rodney Dangerfield used to say "no respect, no respect at all". Next time he'll think twice before attempting to race a TL with that hot ride.

I don't do it all the time but you can't resist the pleasure.
Why is it that people with SUVs wan't to tangle with you all the time? I have had my share of thrills & kills with this car in the last 18months. I had to put a guy in his mid 20s to shame early this mourning. He had a new 4RUNNER he pulled up beside me at a redlight & tried to get a jump. With very little effort I spanked him good. It seems the Suvs try it all the time what is wrong with the people that have them. This is like me trying to take a NSX from a redlight or worst.

Ummm, you beat a van that does high 17's in the quarter. Not much of a kill if you ask me. Oh well, take what you can get.

 

I just let those V8 trucks or SUV go at a red light since it's not worthy of my gas But it's fun to do it once in a while to let them know what kind of beast they are messing with ...

 

Actually, the X5 would probably take us, so would the Cherokee that one Special Sport edition one with the mamoth engine in it.
