Cool who did it and where??

I don't have the "stones" I used to, so I haven't gone much into 3 digit speed territory. But I'm curious about where and how fast my TL type S brethren have pushed their 4 door rockets! Was it in broad day light or during the dark of the night?

I've gone about 105 on I90 outside of Chicago. She was pulling smoothly and felt great! How 'bout you? No "fear-factor" about getting caught?

Re: who did it and where??

I was doing 120 on a dry lake bed north of Palmdale, California. I went with an Eclipse car group and the ranger was cool with people doing everything except our own slaloms (digs up the lake.. but it looked cool!). I could have gone faster, but I had a few things working against me. One, we were at 3000 feet (navigation map was empty for the area, but at least it gave me the elevation ), secondly there were two other people in my car to weigh it down, and lastly there were other people on the lake and I didn't feel like I had a big enough cushion as far as space and handiling ability (I didn't exactly have loads of traction on the lake bed for emergency manuevers, so I wanted a lot of extra space between me and other people on the Lake, especially people without the protection of a 3000lb car). I couldn't believe the loss of power once you get into fourth gear, though. I wonder if there is some way to change the gear ratios.. I'd take 5th gear as the only OD gear.

I want to go back now that I have my intake installed and see if the better airflow will help me out at that elevation. The only car I had a problem with was a 1991 AWD Turbo. I've read a few times on this board that Turbos have quite an advantage over non-forced induction engines at elevation. He also could control his launch quite a bit better since he had a manual. I would pull and overtake him around 90-95mph. That sounds about right with the 1/4 mile times he said he was getting (mid 15s, low 90 mph) and what people here have been getting.

On the road I've done 105 on the 101 in Southern California - late at night in a section with no construction (for those familar with all of the late-night resurfacing going on on the 101). Ex-girlfriend used to live 40 miles away so I had a nice ride home at 1 - 1:30 am.

130 right before reaching San Rafael/Richmond Bridge. Let her off sooner than expected since I was apporaching a blind curve (never know when cops could be merging).

I have done between 100-110 on the beltways....mainly in the daytime, and with little traffic. Car feels great at that speed, and I sometimes forget I am even going that fast!
