Post Who can install spark plugs??????

Anyone,

I ordered the Denson plugs and I have a question. Where can I get them installed? I know at any Acura dealer, but what about the lube shops or can it be done by myself with the right equipment? I know installation probably only takes a few minutes. Thanks!

U can do it yourself. doesn't take long at all. u just need the right tool.
all you do is reach into the spark hole and unscrew it. then pull it out. then put the new ones in.

Uh, you need to properly gap the plugs first.

Yeah there is a special tool that has rubber in the tip that can grip the plugs.

When u buy the plugs just tell them what car u wanna put it in and they adjust the gap for you. Unless your a perfectionist and want to do it yourself.

why would you need to gap it.. doesn't it come at the correct setting?

Good question buddha. I ordered these plugs through on this site, so should it come with the correct setting?

There is a little more than that - let's not make it sound that easy guys. If you have never put in spark plugs (and I assume you have not because of your question), you should use a torque ratchet to screw them in to the right tension. Most people don't use this tool because they have replaced spark plugs in the past and have developed the right "feel" for the tension - or they have gottne lucky and not had any problems. Look in the manual and see what torque is required for the plugs before you embark on your mission. It might seem like an extra step, but it would save you a gobd bit of potential damage in the future, as well as cover you if you need any type of warranty service caused by bad plugs.

Don't forget to put a little anti-seize on the spark plug threads. With aluminum heads you wouldn't want the plugs to seize to the head.

Pretty simple job, but will ruin your heads and cause expensive damage if you screw up. Buy the Helm manual.

Question

Alright guys, I'd rather be safe than sorry. I am going to get them put in by a professional. So now, my question is. Where would be a good place to get them installed? Thanks!

Be sure to index the plugs, meaing to have the "open" area point towards the intake valves. You do not want part of the electrode to block the spark if it is pointed towards the exhaust valves.

I personally would go to the dealer to have them installed, if something should happen to your car you can go back to them. (just keep the work invoice they give you) About a lube shops installing them make sure you can trust them and they stand behind there work. I personally don't trust lube shops to many horror story's from friends.

Will the acura dealership install the plugs? I was under the impression that most dealerships won't install aftermarket parts because or warranty issues.
