Post Who can help me with an exhaust question?

Why does the TL have 2 headers and then go to a single exhaust just to split it again to 2 mufflers?

why dont aftermarket exhaust systems use twin pipes? wouldent you get more flow and less restriction using 2 instead of 1? not to mention a stereo effect exhaust note?

That's a good question... I've never thought of it.

Does it propel more exhaust air out that way? Since exhaust air comes in from two manifolds, and that sorta accelerates the exhaust air flow into a single pipe, and then it free-flows out into two separate exhausts?

Any one know the answer to this??

just a guess, but i'd have to say refined levels of NVH.

same for the intake and computer. acura could have easily put CAI on the car and calibrated the computer for more power w/o adding to the price (jeez, CAI would,ve cost LESS that OEM setup!), but they set the car up at a specific compromise b/t performance and luxury.

you want a hotrod? either buy one or turn your acura into one. acura just don't sell 'em that way. even the NSX is tuned to be very civil.

i'd gander that the 2-1-2 exhaust is to reduce NVH over a true dual exhaust setup. anyone else?
