White Diamond Pearl TLs sittin on new chrome OEM wheels

Well folks,

I finally got my chrome. I did chrome exchange at discount tire. These wheels are so shiny!! They look great. Triple plated chrome with 3 year warranty. It totally set my car off. The stares I got the last two days are incredible.

I know many of you are not into chrome, but I love the look. Plus, I stayed with stock 17's because I did not want to deal with the possible rubbing and rougher ride going to 18's or 19's. Plus, I saved a grip of cash. Got chrome exchange which included swapping the tires, mounting and balancing the new chromes for under $750.

Check it out.

I saw a lady in the passenger seat in a car the lane next to me. As the chrome was shining on her face she looked like this :wow: Ha ha. The light show is pretty wild.

That looks very nice, I thought the chrome wears off after a while?

But I guess your safe with the Warranty

But I think it would look even tighter on a Silver TL..

I wonder how it would look on a Black TL

I love white cars with chrome. The chrome blends in nice to the bright paint in my opinion. Dark cars with chrome look either really good, or really bad, depending on the color IMO

Here is how chrome exchange works for those who are interested.

The way I did it was I went to my trusty discount tire store. Told them I wanted to exchange my wheels from chrome ones. So, they called one of their exchanging vendors and they sent up a set of TLS wheels chromed to Discount Tire. Then, my guy there called me and I brought my car down to Discount. They dismounted my tires and mounted them to the new chrome wheels. Then, discount tire boxes up my old alloy finish wheels and sends them back to the vendor. Thus, doing a chrome exchange. I paid just under $750 for everything including lifetime balance and mounting. I may have gotten a good deal only because I bring tons of business to them.

The other way to do it is go to www.aaarims.com or www.capitalwheels.com and use their program. They charge you upfront about $1400 and send you chrome wheels first, then you have to use their boxes and send your old ones back to them within 30 days. If not, I think they add fees. Once they get your old wheels back, they credit your credit card back $700-$900 depending on application. This way is more of a hassle in my opinion.

I love discount tire. Been doing business with them since 1990 when I got my first car. 10 wheel and tire packages later, here I am.

I think they look pretty good too. At first it almost reminded me of a Caddy Catera.

As far as the term "Triple Chome Plating" goes, that's actually a misnomer. Chrome Plating is a three step process using a base coat of copper and nickel THEN it' gets dipped in chrome.

Looks great I have the same wheels for about a year and a half now on my white TL. They are begining to flake a little on the inside of the wheel. These wheels make a huge difference in appearance, especially with the kit. LOOKS GREAT
