open up the driver's side door. there should be a couple of stickers on the door frame. look for the white honda one and on the top right corner should be the month and year. thats only as specific as it gets. my VIN number is in the 5000s and it was built 3/01. i believe the TL-S being delivered now are in the 13,000s or 14,000s.

Why would the manufacturer date show how long it has sat on the lot. Doesn't that show you when the car was built? Wouldn't you have to track down some sort of delivery date?

My salesman tells me that it takes 10-14 days for a car to get to a dealer's lot after its manufacture.

My particular concern is this: I asked the dealer to deliver a brand new car (right off the truck) to me. He informs me that the manufacture date for that car is tomorrow, and that the car will arrive in 10-14 days. When pick up the car I want to double-check that he didn't switch the car with another car that's been sitting on the lot for 3 months (not very likely given the market here in Kansas City, but...)

Also, I'd be very suspicious if there was more than 10 miles on the odometer...

Post Where is the Manufacture Date?

I want to make sure that the TL-S that I take delivery on is indeed a BRAND NEW one instead of one of the other cars that have been sitting on the lot. Is there anywhere that the car's manufacture date is easily verified?

The last 6 digits of my VIN is in the 500's. Does that mean mine was one of the first 500 built?

My dealer told me that my TL-S will be manufactured between May 27 and June 1, and delivered between June 6 and June 16. I had already planned to double check his integrity in the same way as you, daverman Good call and good luck.
