Where besides the dealership can I get those black things that hold the front bumper and radiator cover on? The little things that lok like a black plastic push pin that goes into a bracket....Great description, I know..

If anybody has a few extra, please pm me!

Lowes has them and they actually fit better than the ones from Stealership. If you look in the DYI section they have pictures of it.

OP just ask for a bag of them at the dealership.. why pay to get them from another place or get them shipped?

I've heard some nice stories about your dealer man.

...stop it lol My dealer thoroughly tries to rape every customer they get...

But yea OP, if you're lucky enough, the dealer may give it to you, if not, Lowes.

Anything can be MADE to work.

But if you don't want your car to be a pile, then get the new factory parts at the dealer.

Seriously guys, try buying BMW parts. Acura ain't that bad.

It's just a push clip, there are many different sizes. I doubt a dealership is going to give them out free, unless you're lucky.

If lowes doesn't work, try any local body shop, they stock them. It's not like you're buying a water pump,no need to overpay the dealership for 'oem' clips.

if a dealer TRIED to charge me for those i'd ask to see a price sheet...

whoever got quoted $4 and $5 a piece is the real tradgedy...

and yes, they were free i can assure you... he just grabbed a handful and put them in a small ziploc baggie..

Your dealer is a rarity. They all charge for them.

You can get them online much cheaper than what the dealer charges, or most parts stores carry them. Find a Napa, they have them in packages.

i suppose

i spend alot of time up there and usually let them do the work on my car if they can come close to matching other shops..

other then that they are just generally nice people and never mentioned anything about charging for those things... thats terrible that they do elsewhere...

??i was saying it in a sense that they more then likely cost a fraction of a penny to produce...

its one of those things that cost less to make and give out then the cokes and coffee they give away at the dealer.

i dont understand why a DEALER would charge.. i get why a hardware or parts store would charge.

they lose more money on other things then a small plastic thumb clip

They most likely order in bulk from a wholesale company and dont have an active inventory of them, since your loyal to them they hook you up with out even caring because they know you will come back.

Tell them you need some more and send them to me...

thats what i was thinking... these $4 and $5 a piece prices people are talking about are just A-hole parts workers making up a price to charge for them... thats rediculous... they are listed at $2.25 each on acura of Delray's website. so they arent free as i thought.

and yes.. they see me at least once every 2 weeks or so.. sometimes i stop by just to chat with the service guys about cars they are working on (NSX's)

6 months ago the parts guy called me and told me they had a S motor on a pallet they ordered for a customer that never got it and told me i could have the whole thing for $100..

and gave me the type S intake manifold for free when i said i didnt want the motor.

it really does pay to establish a relationship with the dealer... which is why when they finally have an nsx on the lot, my fiancee will be bringing me out there to pick it up... im first on the calling list when they get one for sale just waiting on all these old guys that drive them in LA to give in and trade them lol

Lol, well more power to you. You're right though, it pays to develop a relationship. I work at a dealership and when something happens that we need to goodwill a part we ask about the relationship they have with us.

Okay, does anybody specifically know what size these clips are? I've gone to Autozone, Kragens, Lowe's, Napa. I'm trying to stay awaty from the stealership.

If you have 1 clip, why not take it with you and compare until you find an exact match?
If you don't have any, I think the rear bumper uses the same ones as the radiator cover.

Like I said, try going to a local body shop and ask for them. They'll be able to put in the right ones and might not even charge, and if they do, it'll probably be cheap.

I went to a local auto paint shop and they had it in stock. These are from a company called UFO (Ultra Fastener Division).

I got 2 clips for $3.49, with tax in Cali that's $3.85.

---

I found a great site for anybody who wants to get these clips for stock. Either eBay or this site.. $7.99 (does not include tax+shipping) for a pack of 15 clips. This should solve the OP's question. Thread should be closed.

For first class mail this comes out to 11.55 to Az. for 15.

How is that cheaper than what I posted from ebay which was 9.95 delivered for 22?

If you read carefully, I said your site or my site. Whichever suits them better. I was just trying to help people out cause I had a hard time finding these in-stores. Best way to get these are obviously online cause its cheaper and comes in large quantities.

I work at a Ford dealer in the parts dept and I hand those things out for free all the time. We have some that are in inventory that we bill on warranty tickets, and we have a bin full of them that our techs use for everything else. The service manager gets them dirt cheap from a local source.
