When to trade

My 00 TL just turned over 70000 miles. Runs and looks like new. My concern is that soon I'm going to have to spend big bucks on mainainance (timing belt, water pump etc.). The car also becomes less reliable and suject to things like starter failure (my 95 Maxima standed me 3 times before the problem was diagnosed), battery and alternator etc. Is this a good time to trade before I have to start spending on major maintainance? Any thoughts?

It really depends on if you owe money on the car or not. At some point, it pays to trade the car in before you get upside down on the loan. On the other hand, there are plenty of TL's on this board that are 100k + with little or no problems. Asside from the obvious power train problems, they are extremely reliable cars.
