the coolant should have been replaced at the water pump service and be good for 5 years
thermostat- whenever it dies and wont regulate temp

if you get hot engine temp with ac on I would inspect the radiator for flow rate

Dont keep getting it hot past halfway or there will be damage internally that shows up in 6 months!!!!!!!!!!!

the passenger side fan must run with ac on- ck that
If driver fan runs 15 miutes after stopped car- its probably the fan temp sensor
located lower right/pass side bottem corner of radiator-very common failure
(iirc 99 sensor was on the thermostat-later years on rad)

ck rad hoses for softness or soft spots anywhere on it-
those mean the hose can collapse and not flow any coolant thru them
