for the front the wheel, axel nut, brake, rotor, come off you will have to seperate the ball joint (lower atleast to pull the half shaft out of hub) it would probably be easiest to remove the whole knuckle to work on a bench. then it looks like there is just a retaning clip that holds it in. the rear is different from the front.

Bad Knuckle
Bare with me all. I am new here. I am having the same conditon as others on here huming from the front end. So I figured bearing well after finally getting the lower ball joint loose I was able to get to the back side I take a look. Would you know it the bearing itself is spinning in the knuckle. I call dealer they want $410 per side on top of the $104 for the bearing. I just bought the bearing from AutoZone for $27.
Has anyone else had this problem?
I found this site http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/jsp/catdisplay.jsp that has the knuckle for $293. Has anyone order from them or is there a better site I can go to?
Thanks for the help

Well it cost me $300 at a guy that used to work at acura and started his own shop. I supplied the part and still got ripped off. Just take it to a reputable mechanic and see what he quotes you.

Depeneding on the year and miles on your TL i got mine fixed by the dealer for $200+tax. What happened was my car was an 02 TL with 52K miles last year just outside warrenty and aucra USA helped me out by paying 50% of the cost. Otherwise it would have been 400+tax . You can ask the service rep at the dealership to ask acura to help you out. Hope it helps

Car Year
Our car is a '02 TL with 113,000 on it. Wow your car only had 52,000 on it I guess we got good mileage out of ours so far then.
Last night I started to try to get the lower ball joint loose on the right side but neighbor came over and had to tell me about their trip out west. Does anyone have a trick on getting these ball joints loose? I have rented the Pickle Fork from AutoZone and got the left side loose but this other side is a tough one. Do I need a 20lb sledge? Heat?
Thanks

bang away with something more than a tack hammer they just need a good old beating. carefull not to damage teh dust boots on them, or your going to be replacing them too (like 2 bucks at the honda dealer)

Pressed in
You will need a ball joint (pickle fork) removal tool. A large socket I think it was 36mm to remove the nut that holds the axle shaft. Once you get this all apart you will need a press to push bearing out and to reinstall new one. I did not have a press so I took the knuckles to Midas (I know the manager there). They charged me $60 per side to take out the old and put in the new bearing.
