What's the difference between these rods ??

What's the difference between these rods ??
Both are from a J35A4. Are the smooth ones the factory forged units? Which do you suppose would hold up better to a boosted motor.

The one on the right in the first picture is cast, which is the weaker rod.

Also, the one on the left seems to have its cap on backwards.
