What's better? CAI or Short Ram
#2
short ram: good for low-end torque, doesn't give much hp as cold air. easier to install, sounds a bit louder than cold air. no need to worry about water being sucked into engine. but it sucks hot air from the engine compartment
cold air: more hp gain, harder to install, 'might' experience hydrolock (which hasn't happened to any of the members here). deeper sound than short ram. more expensive than short ram.
i think that's it!
i have a short ram and it's awesome!

To put it short, short ram will be easy to install/ clean but it won't give you as much hp gain as CAI since it is sucking in the warm (HOT) air in the engine bay. Whereas CAI is placed behind the bumper as close to the road as possible allowing it to suck in air that is colder. CAI stands for Cold Air Intake. Colder the air, better it is.

What's wrong is you're going to get the same amount of response everytime. Personally I think everyone should AT LEAST have a stock replacement drop-in. Then for those who want it to be a lil louder and racy for instance if you like the intake sucking air sound go with the short ram. If you want maxium performance then go with CAI. I've ran Short Ram, and running my homemade CAI now.
