What would you do?

Ok so currently I drive a 1999 Acura TL...it has 67,000 miles & multiple door dents and some scratches here and there...

My friend who has lots of $ is selling a 2006 Black Honda Civic w/ 36,000 miles & no dents or scratches. Not sure of the trim but I would assume LX (mid) or possibly EX (high end). I love my Acura but its getting old & I cannot stand the door dents.

Now my options....

---sell my Acura & give my friend whatever I get & in return I get the Civic
---Or keep my Acura

I love my Acura but the Civic is valued at, at least $15,000 where my Acura is now worth like $8,000. As far as finances go its a no brainer, but I still can't decide.

Also 0-60 for TL is 7.8sec & Civic is 8sec so not a big difference
I love the acuras speed & I know the civic is slower w/ V4 but it would save gas $

What would you do?

Yes...but it's newer and I'm not paying $16,000..probably like 7K. Plus if my tranny fails I'm screwed, Don't have $ to fix it (college student=no $)

Sell the tl to someone who will baby it. Downgrade to the civic and save some money. Trust me you won't regret it.

No, to the first part of this statement, yes to the second part.

I own a 2003 TL-S and I too feel that it's time to move on... but not to a civic.

Upgrade only, don't downgrade. I'd rather drive a 99 TL then a 06 Civic.

I . You will save on money, but you will hurt your reputation. If you will move on, great, but don't move on to Civic. If you do, then when you are in your new rice-mobil and you see TL, you will feel small and miserable...at least I would. So don't slap yourself in the face with Civic .

I know what u r all saying...BUT IM GETTING IT FOR BASICALLY NOTHING!!! The '06 Civic can be sold for $15,000 where my TL can be sold for $9,000. Plus, the Civic is not a bad looking car and it performs so I think if its in mint condition I might take it. I'll have to test drive it & take a look in person.

By the way if I don't take the Civic i will not be getting a new car till i graduate college which is in 3 years...so keep that in mind as well. I'll have the TL/Civic till 210.

thanks

if you say the Civic is worth about $15,000, just get the Civic and trade it in for the AV6. how about that?

The civic doesnt have a V4.

Also if your in school and dont have lots of money why buy a new car. Keep the one you have. maybe spend some of the $ you would have on the new car to get yours cleaned up a little.
