Wax

I have used a couple of different ones, but I have been the most impressed with Zaino. I spent 3 consectutive days using several Zaino products (Z1, Z5, Z6 and Z2), and now maintaining it has never been easier for me. I like their tire dressing as well.

Hi

How does their tire dressing work? Is it a spray or foam or paste?

I've used Blitz Wax (a Carnuba-wax based product), but be advised to allow enough "quality time" with your vehicle.

More general information is at:

I have been using Maguires Gold Class paste. It looks really good but unfortunately does not last as long as I'd like.

According to that link from Darla, maybe I'm using too much detergent and actually stripping the wax. I'll check that next time washing.

I use Klasse Acrylic with Pinnacle Carnuba Wax on top. I like the results. Great shine and dirt and even tar/sap seems to come off easily. I put on a new coat of Pinnacle every time I wash. I'll start from scratch and redo the Klasse every 6 months or so.

I have only used Zaino on the TL. In the past I have used Meguiers Gold Class paste, Meguiers liquid wax, and Zymol liquid (cheap Zymol). I switched to Zaino a few years ago, It seems to last a lot longer than anything else I have used, and is very easy to apply and remove. http://www.zainobros.com

Zaino! Guy that parks next to me uses Meguiers Gold Class paste on his Lexus. The Zaino puts it to shame! And the Zaino is so damn easy to use, at least in warm weather.

To make the choice easier, if you have the money to blow on your baby(which i think is worth) go with zaino. If you want something that is good but less in price go with meguiars. I like Zaino, but it is a hassle ordering and paying the demanding price.

I just used Zaino for the first time this weekend, and it is the best wax I've ever used. Before that, I was using Meguiers, and I'm sorry, but it is not even close. I can use my car as a mirror now.
I used the Z5 because I had swirl marks all over my black beauty, but now they are history. I just prey that the weather gods give me time to put a second coat on today. I want at least 3 coats of Z5 before I go to Z2. It's like a drug!

Question

What product will work best on a WDP? For the darker colors (and even silver), what you folks are discussing makes sense. I would imagine white is a difficult color to enhance, no matter what product is applied; ie, so should I just use the one requiring the least effort? Feedback comments?

Zaino is mail order only. You can get it here. The price list is on the site.

Quite a few folks like Klasse for light color cars. I've never used it, though, but you can get it here.

I've been using Mothers California Gold Pure Carnuba paste wax. Application is simple. Durability is so so. Shine is factory like. Availability is excellent. Not a bad wax overall.

Regarding White Diamond Pearl, I used Zaino on a White Diamond Buick Park Avenue, which is pretty much the same color as the Acura, white with the pearl effect.

It came out looking awesome, the pearl paint looked like it was glowing.

same here
Zaino shine does look better, but I was scared off by the 2-3 day process, I usually only have half a day to polish/wax. I'm pretty happy w/ the Mothers gold. (I use the liquid)

You'd be surprised at how "deep" a white vehicle can look. Especially Acura's metallic "white". Don't skimp because you don't think you won't see a difference. My best friend used Meguiar's until he tried Zaino Z5. Now he's hooked. This is a person who washes a black vehicle 5 times a week.
