What is a Type S worth?
I'm thinking of selling my 2002 TL Type S and I'm not sure what its worth on todays market. The Kelley Site calculated its worth at $22,550.
The only thing that is not considered in the Kelley price is the 100k warranty I purchased from Acura when new.
Here are the facts:
50,050 Miles
Acura maintained with all records.
100K extended warranty from Acura
Original owner
All Stock
Garage Kept
Original trans, never a problem, recall photo of gears at 45k service was like new, and they added gear sprayer per recall.
During the 45k service, I was told the original front brakes have 55% life and the original rear at 30%.
Tires have about 10k of life left.
Excellent Shape
Never in accident or speeding ticket so you know it was driven respectfully.
I noticed a huge variance in the prices in dealerships and I would put this car against anyone of them.
Any experts out there???

I only paid 22.4k for my type S w/navi in feb of 03, 28k on the odometer. and that was before the TL got a big fat red X on reliability(powertrain) from many sources.
Good luck trying to get more than somewhere between KBB trade-in and private party sale price.

That is what I figured, somewhere in between trade and retail. Regarding the trani problems, I was pretty concerned when the news hit the fan, but after I saw the pictures of my trani from their probe type camera, I was very releaved and surprised. I expected signs of burned and chipped gears.
With a clean bill of health, I can't figure how I got by the trani problem everyon else seems to have.
Maybe the car will explode at 60k instead.

Consider it a value add for a potential buyer, but not something you will expect to recoup at resale.

Sell it own your own, bump the price for the mods and the ext warranty and you're done. Don't think of trading it. You'll lose out that way for sure.
