Post What are the top 3 all season tires

Just curious what brand name and type of all season tires you guys like best.

If you could, just list the top 3 and why you think they are so good.

Thanks.

If talking about "Ultra high performance All-seasons", I would propose the Michelin Pilot XGT Z4s. Compromise a bit, then go for the Michelin Pilot XGT V4s....if you decide to compromise a bit more, then go for Michelin Pilot XGT H4s....just my 2c

The P7000SS and the RE730 are two of the best all season tires in my opinion that both have good tread wear ratings.

I don't think RE730 is an all-season tire. RE730 is an high performance summer tire. RE940 is the high performance all-seaon tire by Dunlop.

I'm pretty partial to the Bridgestone Potenza S-02 Pole Positions with Uni-T AQ. Great tire..... Amazingly good traction in the wet (with the exception of snow). If you don't get snow take a look at this tire, but warning, it's sizes are extremely limited. The RE730's are pretty good too. The Z4 Michelin's are also good tires... All 3 IMHO are great, but if you can make it by with the S-02's, then by all means do so!!!

Thanks,

I think you can get them at Sullivan Tires in Comm. Ave or any other stores like that , but well if you want them ready stock, they mightn't have it.

The Bridgestone RE730's are NOT all-season!

Check out www.tirerack.com

They sort the tires into their respective categories. When going from best winter to best summer tires, look for:

1 Ice & Snow M&S (mud & snow)
2 Snow M&S
3 All-Season M&S
4 All-Season
5 No rating of winter traction.

"All-season" tires have a tread compound that does not go hard below 35°F.

"M&S" tires have lateral grooves in the tread that bite into loose materials.

"Snow" tires are the traditional chunky tires that can't be driven fast, but can often be studded.

"Ice & Snow" tires have special tread compounds and tread features that help the tire grip past the thin layer of water that forms on top of the ice from the pressure and heat of the tires. These tires wear very quickly and are never rated above 99 MPH (that I have seen).

I saw the P7000SS's on a TL 225/55's.. I didn't like the way it looked...the tread on the side looks so aggressive, it remins me of a truck tire..the overall look of the side of the tire I didn't like, IMO

Thanks,

I actually got them used out of the Want Ads, but I have been looking to replace them and the best price seems to be Tirerack. Most of the local places are pretty expensive.

actually, the Goodyear HP Ultra Plus are not all season tires, but the lower rated HP are. after about two weeks of driving in snow on a sheet of ice, it's still much better than stock in winter.
