Go to ur local auto toy store (pep boys, etc.) and buy one those wrenches made specially to take out spark plugs. Make sure before u put them on they have the correct gap setting. Very simple to do even though i've never changed the spark plugs on my car but have done to my stangs.

It's good that you want to change plugs yourself but it's something you can easily screw up, costing you a lot more money. Possible errors are: crossing the spark plug wires (shouldn't be a problem because the wires should all be cut to exact lengths), breaking the old plugs while removing (need another tool to remove a broken plug), breaking the new plugs, crosstreading the new plugs (this can be major!) Try to have someone there who's done this before. If you don't know what kind of tools to use, I wouldn't try it alone!

Oh its simple! just use a socket wrench and you'll need that long extension to reach down for the spark plugs. If your talking about ignition wires, then just change those out ONE AT A TIME!! dont start yanking them all out at the same time and placing the new wires in because that will cause a misfire in your plugs if you mismatch the wires, which isn't healthy to your engine. make sure you have the right kind of spark plugs too....i think tl uses NGK good luck =o)

Thumbs up

Thanks for replies guys! I am still debating on whether to do it myself or have someone do it, like a performance shop. Cause I do not want to ruin my expensive car. You know what I mean. Thanks anyway!

dont do it, but if you know for sure you dont scroo up on alot of things. YOU CAN Doooo IT!
very easy, just make sure you just tightned it not too hard, just till you cant seem to move the wrench anymore( do not apply too much pressure). i think it is easy, use anti seize on the plug threads, also for anyone out that knows. isnt the spark plugs already gapped?! ready to install?......... if i have to gap em, whats the measurement.....
plz help just got em today!

Question What tool do i need to install Iridium spark plugs?

I know some people here installed the plugs themselves and mentioned that you need a special tool. What is this special tool and how much does it cost? i want to try installing them myself without going to the Acura dealer cause they will hit me up hard! Any info is greatly appreciated!
