Look on http://www.tirerack.com site. They compare tires for you and can tell you which handle snow and have decent performance.
Unfortunately most all-seasons don't have great traction.

Why compromise. I bought a second set of alloy rims/tires, but for far less you could get a set of steel wheels with snows and a decent wheel cover (or all-seasons), then get some good rubber (read my sig) for summer months. That is what I do.

TIRES
Both are good tires, but IMO...
Toyo Proxys are the BEST.
Great performance, and a little less expensive than Pirellis and Yokos. Plus they last a little longer than the Pirellis, not sure about how they compare to Yokos in terms of tread life.
All in all I think toyos are the best.
