What is this a sign of?

Hey guy's, recently(within the past 2 weeks) i've noticed my 02 TL-P with 43,000 miles on it to shift a little slow. Like, i will accelerate and instead of it shifting at 2500 rpms, it will go past and shift at 3100 rpms and the such. Maybe this has to do with a loss of power(i do need an oil change) but can this be a sign of transmission failure? Should i bring it in to Acura?
Thanks
