sup ppl...i got a 2003 tls about three months ago and i love it!...except for one thing...i didn't get the navi
...everyday i regret not getting it and it's eating me up...at the time i thought that i didn't really need it since i don't travel far from my home area but i realized that i do need it...plus everything that i've been reading in this forum makes me want it more...so i was debating if i should trade it in now or wait till the 2004 comes out...i'm afraid that the longer i wait the less my car will be worth...what should i do?

you already lost 2-3 grand on the car and than u will pay 2 grand extra for the navi.. u gonna lose $5k.. u better wait for the 2004 TL which will have the voice activated system and many more features.. IF you are worried about your cars value dropping than sell it now but a $2k car for now
. or sell it and replace it with a navi one.. or do a navi mod for the acura navi.. or get a aftermarket NAVI. Cheaper

thx for the insight...im gonna talk to the dealership when i go in for my first oil change...actually i blame the dealership cause when i went in to buy it they were remodeling and had no cars in the showroom...so i couldn't actually see the inside of the car...if i had actually seen the navi...i'm sure i would have wanted it...plus when i went to pick up my car...i asked how much more it would have been if i got the navi and the dealer said it would be 1500-2000 more...then said "u dont need it"...yeah right what did he know...he was prob afraid i was gonna change my mind at the last min...DAMN!...i learned a good lesson from this...always get the best...
i really hope the 2004 comes out in march...it's gonna be a long wait if it doesn't

your best bet is probably an aftermarket unit.
i dont understand how u didnt at least sit in the car before you bought it though??
and march is pretty much out of the question for the '04. expect it in the showrooms around late fall according to the most reliable sources ive heard.

I'd wait. If you love the car, which you say you do, then just wait a it out. in essense, you will be paying 5000 bucks for a navigation (about 3000 for depreciation and 2000 more for the navi). If you really want one bad then maybe getting an aftermarket one is your best bet. Not sure how much they cost but I can't imagine they are $5000!!! I think the Acura nav is an alpine but others would on here would know more (I don't have a Nav). Good luck.

siLvErshAdOw,
I do not have it and could not see a reason to get it other than to impress those who are driving with me. You live in NYC, do you really think that you would use the NAV ? It is a lot to trade the car in for a glorified map.

siLvErshAdOw,
Roadman is right.
Unless you drive to a lot of places that are unfamiliar to you, it is just a waste of money.
I travel quite a bit but even so, I may use my paper maps about 5 times a year.
For you, that would equate to about $1000 bucks a pop.
A better use would be to mod your exterior/engine.
How many people actually see the insides of your car anyway ?
(especally if you have a dark tint)

I agree with the masses.. the Navi is really not useful unless you don't know where you're going. My car is mainly used to commute... and I take the same route everyday. When I am going somewhere new.. I either get directions or use MapQuest..... and I've never had a problem.
If you REALLY want a Navi as a toy.. your best bet is aftermarket. Any other way will cost you a lot of money... and it's not worth it....

Also be aware that while the navi costs $2000 it adds only a few hundred to the resale value-most people just don't need it. Cool toy if you have no better use for twothou.

Hey dont forget you get that cool CD tray that us NAVI owners don't get!!! ![Wink](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Just kiddin... Definitely not worth the extra $5000 to trade in for the NAVI. If you really like it, wait for the 2004 with voice activation ... That looks really sweet in the Accord commercial!

Same here man.
Didnt get the navi and felt kinda regretful. But as someone stated before, its a great car and the navi is not a nessecity. So enjoy the ride while it last.(I'm assuming ur gonna trade in for the 04 tl with nav)

I can get GOOD Pioneer screens for ~400/each, and get it installed for like 150. Maybe around a grand installed. Don't buy your stuff thru the shop, get it online.

I acually decided to get the navi instead of getting the body kit. I kinda figured I can get the body kit later and not for $1800.
Navi=lifesaver and entertainment screen
