What is this?... pic inside...

Hey everybody.. I need to move these two "black boxes" (for stereo purposes) and I'm curious first off what are they?...

I'm planning on disconnecting the battery, and extending the wires going to each of these "boxes" then place them somewhere else...probably just off to the side..

By the way this picture is taken from the trunk looking up at where the stock sub should be, my sub is replaced with black cloth material (if you take out the sub and don't do this you get a circle waffle pattern on the rear windshield when you push the brakes, lol).. The "black boxes" are on the passenger's side of the trunk.

Any advice? anything I should keep in mind when remounting them? if they are both for the stereo (not sure, one may be for the rear brak lights..) I don't even need them, I'm replacing the whole stereo, wires and everything ...

Thanks in Advance for any advice..

This is what I read here

Hope this helps

5. Factory sub/amp info

A common (L+R) signal is sent from the headunit to the EQ. The EQ amplifies this signal
and sends it to the sub amp mounted behind the rear seatback, passenger side. The
black box you see under the rear deck by the subwoofer is a passive crossover, not the
amp. (You can replace everything else and still use the factory sub if you provide
ground, power, and mono preamp to the Bose EQ).

the one toward the center is for the seatbelt gears and stuff, so I dont think that one is going to move.

Yup as ou sig posted, I am almost 100% sure that the center one is for the middle seat belt retractor.

Yep seatbelt in the center, the other is for the radio antenna built in to the rear windshield.

The whole trunk will be brushed stainless steel when I'm done... I should have it installed when you get here... I'm mounting the amps and the sub boxes tomorrow. You'll be able to hear it..I don't think I'll have all the custom work done though... "will it ever be done"

Yeah I think I'm going to pick up "Brown-Bread" which is basically the same as dynamat but not "priced for audio use" . You can still get it in large ammounts at low prices... @cur@-tl and I are going to split a large ammount of it an do our entire cars.. roof, trunk, floors, firewall, doors, etc.... the car will sound so solid!!

If you're interested in getting in on some I'll keep you posted... I'm still looking at sizes and prices
