any sort of spray paint will work, you dont need brake caliper paint. that being said, imo your car's blue would be cool.

So the process to paint it is just remove rims, cover disc brakes, and paint the calipers? Sounds tooooo easy to be true... how come people don't do it if its so easy?

I recently just installed brembo rotors and painted my calipers red. painting it wasn't hard. You need high temp. paint not just any regular paint. You can get it at auto zone or anything like that. I used 1200 degree just in case but 500 degree is ok. All you have to do is cover the rotor with a plastic bag, use some cardboard to cover the fenderwell and spray away. Spray 2-3 layers let them dry and you're done.

Yeah, i bought some 900degree paint, but i want to pain the whole caliper...its just that i cant remove the break sys...the nuts are VERY TIGHT.

I want to do a kik ass job, anyone know if theres a trick to removing the breaks that doesnt involve using A LOT OF FORCE?

you dont need high temp paint!!! standard brake fluid starts to boil around 250 or so deg. standard pain can handle pretty darn close to that. i have had regular paint on mine for years now and i auto cross mine and it still looks great. the key is to clean it good and get a good primer. if its not cleaned good it wont stick .

you may need to use alot of FORCE. it wont break any thing. get a breaker bar or use a pipe on the end of the wratchet

I plan on doing it this spring when the weather gets nicer. I'm not into the bright colors, I'm going to paint mine silver to match the car. Just want it to look clean, and not too showy.

i dont know if any of you guys used a spraycan instead of the foliatec kit, but do you have to cover the brake pads? will there be any harm done if the paint gets on the brake pads?

I used a spray can. Take the calipers off and clean them with a wire brush really good so the paint can stick to them. The key is to remove all the dirt and brake dust to expose the metal. Tape off all parts that u don't want painted cause spray-paint goes all over the place....

exactly that. a good paint primer. it will help the paint stick and last longer. good primers are like the high temp primers (used for engine blocks and stuff) they will help bond better to the metal (if it is a little dirty)

Yup Folia-tec. I didnt have a chance to use it before I sold my TL-S but I still have the unopened package. I dont know if im gonna do it to my Z now because I plan on putting either Project Mu, or Wilwood calipers on

It's quite simple actually. There's 2 bolts that hold the caliper to the bracket and another 2 that hold the bracket to the car. The bracket bolts will be very tight so just use a breaker bar and smack it with a hammer to loosen them. The pads mount on the bracket but they just slide right out. Installation is the reverse.
