What an Idiot
This guy on ebay decided to sell his 2000 TL "Type S" on ebay. While that would be a good way to trick someone and make more money but what happens if they go to kbb.com and theres no Type S selection? I hope nobody buys this car.

The thing looks like it was salvaged from a flood, my '95 avalon doesn't even look as dirty as that. It looks like he's a decent person since his buyers said nothing bad... yet.
As for the engine, it's just a TL-P engine, it's not the -S.

even if it does.. with the salvage title and no air bags there is no telling what this car has been through
it may be from a car dealer that got the car a previous owner who put that Type-S emblem on there, and the dealer doesn't know that there is no such thing as a Type-S for that year

I wonder if he'd sell it as a Merc if it had a Merc hood ornament glued to the hood!

I still can't wrap my head around this... I mean what next? A 2.2 CL as CL Type-S, old-school corrollas with the little "S" stickers on the back as a Corrolla-S, then it's on to CTS's with a -V stuck on the back end for CTS-Vs, and wrap it up with a Maybach hood ornament and badges on a Benz... I like the word befuddling... that's the only way to descibe all this (and the word sounds funny
)... haha...

It does make me feel proud every time an AZ-er spots bogus bs on ebay -- people trying confuse -- but they don't confuse Team AZ!

since when did the type-s have a different front end from the rest of the 02-03?
scam.... 7 ppl giving him 100% feedback don't mean shit... probably his friends....
even teh damn emblem @ the back isn't aligned properly ... god... this is upsetting.... i'm gonna stop here before i start writing an essay about how stupid this seller is...
plus 1.5K RESERVE NOT MET... most likely he will ask for a type s price range... lol
big time loser

Seller says his friend bought the car as a "type S," according to the badge. He seems to think that the motor is what makes it a type-s, since he said specifically said that it was a ULEV 3.2 motor. Most likely doesn't know a thing about it, BUT he also stated that he was wrong. Seems like it was an honest mistake to me, even thought there hasn't been an edit to the description.
