What have you been paying for maintenance

for the first few services, what have you been paying. I am interested in the cost for regular service, and not the extrodinary fixes.

Checking maintenance costs, insurance before deciding...

Lightbulb re: costs

It costs me nothing!! On my CL, I did all of the maintenance myself. Have you ever looked at the brochure which desribes what they do at each service level? Until you get up to the "C" level (which is around 30k), they don't really do anything. They check stuff, replace the oil and maybe windshield wipers. Well, I do all of that. I'm not paying $200 for a dealer to check stuff and change my oil. When I get the TL-S... I will be doing the same thing.....

Well, now I spend nothing because my dealer includes 2 years free maintenance. But, on my '00 TL, the service was as follows:

3750 miles - $25
7500 miles - $100
11250 miles - $25
15000 miles - $225

Then I traded it in on the TLS.

I just got from Santa Monica Acura and paid $23.25 for my 3750 mile oil change and fluid check.

Instead of paying $30.00 for oil change at the dealer, is there any harm to have a cheap local mechanic perform the same task for 16.95?
What is the dealer doing so great that cost me 30 big bucks?

if you know how, got the space and time, why not just change the oil yourself for free.

It wouldn't be free. There is still the cost of a Honda Oil filter, 5 quarts of oil, and the drain plug washer. There is also the value of your time. There is also the trouble of legally disposing of your old oil. In my case, there is also the time I would spend cleaning up the oil I would spill all over my driveway, the cost of the clothes I would ruin, and probably the cost of removing and replacing the bolt I would strip.

On top of that, they check all of your fluid levels, and can replace anything you are low on with Honda fluid.
