what happened?

last night I decided squeal my tires a bit. so I started from stop and used gateshifting to about 50mph. (i like to hear the tires squeal when shifting to second.) when I floored it the tires squealed like normal and I moved forward for a second. Then It was like my car just went limp for a second. The same feeling as when you dont give enough gas for your clutch, But I was practically stand ing on the accelerator. what was going on there?

The traction control system prevents excessive wheel spins during accelerating from a dead stop. Try switching off the TCS/VSA system next time.

Sounds like fuel cutoff to me. Either rev limiter or traction control.

it felt like fuel cutoff.... but maybe it was the VSA, though I don't recall the light coming on. I thought only the TL-P has TCS. I have an '02 TL-S

TL-S has VSA which is Vehicle Stability Assist which is a glorified traction control system, supposed to be better than the TL-P.
