Post What Happen To My Headlight ?

They were not stolen rest easy but since I have not posted for about a month this is whats been going on. The week before Christmas I was behind a SUV & noticed from the reflection my left drivers side headlight was not on. I have posted that I use my headlights 100% of the time & have done so since I got the car 2yrs ago. This is since ACURA did not put DRL in the US. TL the lights have not been modified in anyway at all. When I finally stoped the car & got out to look it was out. When I got back into the car a hour later I turned the lights on as normal & it came back on. This has been over 3 weeks ago & they have worked as normal. I have not took it back to the ACURA dealer yet to get this checked out. I will have it checked when I go in for oil change in a few weeks. The car just got 18,000 miles on it last week but as I said I use the lights 100% of the time. Any thoughts on what the problem would be ?

i doubt it was because you use them 100% of the time

it probably was a loose connection, maybe you hit a big bump or something and it was loose?

Now I don't know much about HID's, but I heard that they work like florescent lights right? Well, sometimes the starter on florescent lights goes bad, and it makes it so the lights won't work. I bet there's a similar thing in our HID's. Let us know what you find out; sounds interesting.

I second that.

Maybe the ballast is going bad.

I was driving on a back country road that day in Souhtern Maryland & it had a few railroad tracks on it. They were no worst than the normal D.C. pot holes here in the winter & spring. The problem only happen that one time sofar. When I get the oil change I will have it checked then unless it goes out again in the next few weeks.
