Comptech is way too much, 1200 for a rounded tube is ridiculous. What are the alternatives that provide similar quality?

A used set of Comptechs would be a great choice; but those aren't easy to find and they sell FAST.
As for brand new, I've heard good things about Stone and Alphawerks. I've heard good stuff about Megan too, but I can't personally recommend them since I've been having problems with mine (fitment, resonance). Megan is supposed to ship me a new replacement set soon.
I would stay away from OBX - seems to be the only brand that cracks.

the reason i got the comptech is they will absolutely fits
or else you will jsut waste money for taking it off and putting back on etc when you have a header that doens't fit

comptech headers is by far the best. You get what you pay for but it holds up its resale value very well. So just buy a used set and you wont lose much when you decide to resale it

i would go for exhaust over header if i can only choose one, coz it gives the look and sound.
yes, headers gain a lot hp, but most of us here are satisfying with the power already has.
i would first do visible mods b4 i go for engine mods, just like i got th wheels and body kit first b4 got the intake and headers

well depends on which TL.. us TLP'ers got far less than you guy.. even I/H/E combo wont be enough to compete with the Type-S's.
and some of us arent really for looks of a car. i never wanted a body kit on mine.. never wanted to do anything fancy to get targeted by cops. i rather be faster and go unnoticed.

Sam, when you said that "headers aren't necessary"... I thought you were implying that they were a low priority engine mod.

header is the last part that i got, after intake and exhaust, wheels, body kit etc
and header only give gain after 5000rpm, which is not quite useful to some drivers who do not drive aggressively
but intake gives a gd gain at all rpm
