what do the letters stand for....

Ok I have been on here since Jan 04', this is my first Honda/Acura....since looking throuhg these treads I have noticed when people desribe their cars for example 00 ACURA TL NBP(THIS IS PROBABLY NOT EVEN ANYTHING) My question is....what determines if the car is an NBP or any of the other letter combos that people are using to define their cars? Does it say somewhere on my car whether my car is an NBP or a PBNJ(joke)? I would like to know just so I can add it on my signature....LOL

Well, Acura themselves call the standard TL the Premium version. There's nothing less than the Premium version ... but thats where TL-P comes from, its not like we pulled it outta the air

In truth, the previous generations of TL (before 2004) always include the engine size too. So if you wanna really add stuff in, you can say 2003 Acura 3.2TL Type S NBP ... yeah!

The 2004 TL is only known as the "TL".

The acronums are from Acura. TL Premium is call that because it came loaded with no options except for Navi. Most dealers aren't knowledgable so who cares if they laugh.

Except for the A Spec package? Meaning the 2004 TL? I just meant that in 2004 they don't refer to the TL as the 3.2TL anymore. In the 1999-2003 models the TL was always known as the 3.2TL... The 2004 TL with A-Spec package is the 2004 TL A-Spec, not the 2004 3.2TL A-Spec right?

Even the 2003 Aspec TL was known as the 2003 3.2TL Type S A-Spec (http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showt...5&pagenumber=1)

Why don't you try reading the whole thread before you start posting useless comments. If you read my comment above the one you made a comment on, you wouldn't need to post that, would you?

Thanks.
