What to do.....
What to do.....
Ok so some of you knew when I took my car to Acura about the tranny, just wanting to get it changed before 100,000, they declined that but the other night I was driving home and the D4 started flashing, I looked it up in the manuel and it said something about a potential tranny problem, I immediately the next day drove the car to Acura, the service tech saw it was flashing and they said that they would change it out. Today they call back and say well we saw it flashing the the ecu doesnt have a code in it for the flash, and it hasnt done it again. If it doesnt do it again and if it doesnt save a code on the ecu, then we cant warrenty the work. What should I do guys, this is getting ridiculous!!!!!!

that's kind of a sucky situation if they can't reproduce it but just be sure to tell them the exact conditions you were driving in when you saw it. but if you haven't had any issues and the inspection revealed no problems then just live with it.
the other thing though is save your service receipt and make sure they noted that you saw the D4 flashing on it. because it's possible that if it fails at say 105k miles, you can call acura customer care and bitch at them that it's an existing condition since before you hit 100k miles and maybe they'll cover it under warranty. who knows, couldn't hurt to try.

Oh god, please tell us you didn't take it to Nalley. They are the worst dealership in the history of all car dealerships in the universe, since the beginning of time. I wouldn't trust them sharpen a pencil for me. They would probably first insist the pencil didn't need to be sharpened, then explain it was normal for it to be dull, and I'd have to beg them to sharpen it - then they would somehow fuck it up.
If you took it to Nalley...
Seriously, Ed Voyles was good to me. Might want to try there.
