what colour hid fogs?

i currently have halogen nokyan yellows on my fog light. they are not powerful at all and don't really help me in bad weather. i was thinking of getting HID yellow fogs...however couple friends told me it makes my car look "ricy" specially since i got it tinted. i was wondering should i maybe install 5000k instead? what do you think or stick with halogens?

color chart is called Kelvin scale
3000 yellow for actual fog use
4300 stock low beams
5000k nicer not ricer~ extra blue tint often used for low beams, pick up reflecto paint in lane edge lines and signs on the road, great in bad weather for that purpose
6000 or above total ricer

standard parts store type halogen/zexon bulbs on a regular `12volt system` wont put out huge amounts of light.
to do that, you install an aftermarket HID kit with ballast the same as low beams
then they will be way more output and your choice of color
see www.hidextra.com as an example

I'm pretty happy with my 3k hid fogs. They need to be re-aimed, but otherwise look great. Since yellow is what is used in many oem fog lights, I don't see how they can be "ricy".

I really would say that I like having all match up So if you have X color in Lows I would put the same in the Fogs but it you really dont care I would not use anything Above 8K since it will start to lose Lm Output badly...

FYI: OEM 4300K is the Strongest Lm Output °K Normal Color you will get Anything beyond 4300K will Lose Lm Output like it or Not and thats a Fact.
How much you lose in real Life? is barely Nothing useful.
You lose light in the Fartest Distance this is the fartest place your Bulb will light up, Anything in the section you care for (Road Wise) will remain the same up until 8000K (ON EXPERIENCE)... anything beyond that will Have a negative impact on Road Light Presence...

Since beyond 8000K the Color take a leap into a Darker HUE.
8000K is called "ARTIC WHITE" (See the Name? WHITE not Blue)
12,000K is HIPER BLUE (Blue is in the Darker regions of the Color Espectrum, So? Dark Roads + Dark Light means: Dangerous)

3200K have the Advantage of being the Most powerful HID Bulb of All (Sits at 3800Lm), The Drawback is the Color itself (Golden) some dont like it very much or think is "Too JDM" soo its a matter of personal choice really.. The plus is that you Gain more Light Output out of the 3K than any other Bulb so for the Fogs seems a nice fit.

In a Nutshell:
If you Cant see the Road with 8000K you have to had bad sight or Really need to learn what the High Beams are Used for.
L8ters and Hope this is Useful.
