Zymol is they have waxes that range in price from $36.00 to $1150.00. They are made for different color cars as well as some individual cars makes. My car is black so I use the Carbon made for darker color cars& has additional ultraviolet filter.Gives great shine & depth of color %37 carnuba wax.
The cost is 36.00 for 8oz. use just a little & you have to keep this one in the refrigerator. They make one called Cream made for lighter color cars white, silver, etc. that has %33 carnuba wax same price as Carbon. Then they make another one called Titanium thats good for sport utility or cars exposed to tree sap has %47 carnuba %90 yellow %10 white for 8oz cost$55.00

Mcguires is awesome if you don't want to spend a shitload of money on zaino or klasse. I use Zaino and I think it's the best out there by far and I've only put 4 coats on so far.

JEFFCOSEO- The true key to waxing with a bufffer is, you CAN APPLY wax with a buffer, but you have to remove it by hand....removing wax with a buffer causes swirl marks...hope that helps. Btw, i get this from being in BMW dealerships that a friend of mine owns.
as for thr best wax, use zymol....i swear by it....it lasts months, and has an awesome shine, and really protects the paint, because it BONDS to the paint....good luck.

If you apply the wax like Zymol sparingly (like a quarter-sized drop per panel) and letting it haze, you don't need too much muscle to buff it off. Make sure you use clean Microfiber towels to do the buffing.
Most waxes especially the liquid ones can be buffer applied. Like what shawn744 said, apply it with a buffer (provided you use the right pad) and buff it off by hand. Also, depending on the color, some waxes work better than others. Wax comes off after several washes or rainfalls. So if you're relying on an "expiring" shine and protection, then by all means, wax away. IMO car wash waxes would give you almost the same results and give you some shine. Also remember that when the paint gets dirty and contaminated, the dirt that doesn't get washed off stays under the new coat of wax(es) and eventually, this ground-in dirt causes the paint and/or the clearcoat to be damaged.
However if you're serious about the protection of your paint, you have to understand that the paint has to have some form of protection first (like a sealant/polish) and then wax would just be to enhance the gloss even farther and add an extra layer of protection.
It also adds a layer or protection over the paint during times when you can't apply wax (like Michigan winters).
I now live in Toronto and have seen what damage dry cold winters do to the paint.
If you go to the Wash and Wax section of the forum, you will find an abundance of knowledge shared by the likes of groebuck, ResudualFreedom and exceldetail to name a few who are all experts in their field.

Here is an update: Its been alomst a week. 3 days of rain and crap. The shine is holding up. NO WATER SPOTs.
Only dust was collecting on top, but used a towel to wipe it off ( 1 min to do ).
NXT is the best so far!

Just get the starter kit. Not the ultimate one. Kinda pricey but well worth it.
Reading this thread and others, any of the products mentioned multiple times sounds good. Just try it on your car, and if you like it, go with it. If not, swap.
