Post What are the best tips you learned from this forum?

The best tips? This forum has been very useful for me. The following are just a few;
Subwoofer and Amp addition, spoiler install, springs and sway bars, cup holder insert, and window tint information.
This forum has been a most excellent resource for my TL!

------------------
2000TL, Nighthawk Black Pearl, Comptech springs and sways, 35% tint, rear spoiler, Kicker Amp/SUB added to Bose system, Optional Factory Chrome Multi Spoke 16" Wheels

I agree about the members as well. One of the members in my area even offered to show me how to clear out my lights! Very cool

I learn alot about performance and how changing certian parts in conjunction can really increase the driving experience.

Also, what I have found most valuable is examples of what people have done. Gives me ideas of the things I like and don't like.

I have gained confidence to try things out myself. Hence, saving me some $$$. But conversly, seeing what mods are available, makes me want to spend $$$.

Lets see. This forum talked me out of buying a Passat. Talked me out of buying an I30T. Told me which dealer to go to and how to haggle with them.I have about 15 posts (tinting, music, dvd, etc) bookmarked. Thank God for all these members who are always ready to help the newbie. I visit this site every single day, and it is the best.

I learned that there isn't a whole hell of a lot of stuff I can put on my 97 TL as compared to the 2nd gen folks. I also learned that there are still some decent people left in this otherwise measly world!

One of the best tips was getting the heads up re OEM vs. aftermarket spoilers. With all the posts regarding whether you can adjust the torsion bars or whether the dealer installs a part, reports that lids are hitting people on the head with aftermarket spoilers, and a fear that I would put it on crooked, I'm glad I decided to spend a few extra bucks and just have it done by the dealer.

You can learn a lot of general car information here, not just information about the TL or TLS. You can also learn quite a bit about the world of car buying and financing. I know I have learned quite a bit from being here.

I spent a good amount of time looking for any kind of aftermarket parts for my car. I couldn't find anything. Then one day, while looking for rims, I came across this site, and finally everything came in one convenient package. Now I know what I can buy, do, and how to do it, plus I got to meet a lot of cool people with the same interests as me. I even made some local friends, since I have only been here 2 years and didn't really have an ice breaker.

There's no one specific thing that I've learned that I think stands out, but overall I learned a hell of a lot about cars in general from this forum.

Besides FORCING me to trade in my 2000 TL for a 2002 TL-S...

This site turned me onto http://www.autopia-carcare.com/
and now I'm having fun taking care of my car again. It looks great.
We'll see how I feel after my trip to Vegas. How many bugs and rocks do you think there are between San Jose and Las Vegas?
