what is this?

I was replacing the rear motor mount and removed these to make some room. They are located on the driver's side near the rear mount and are bolted to the frame. What are they and do they need to go back on?

Because the engineers take shortcuts on designing the engine to SAVE money. So instead of making the engine balance better they add dampeners to absorb the vibrations because dampeners are cheap.

I have mine removed. For weight savings. They are about 8 lbs
